Privacy Policy
Jose L. Diego, MD · diegosurgical.com · Effective August 5, 2026
This website does not collect anything about you. There are no forms, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies. We do not know who visits, and we have no way to find out.
What this policy covers
This policy describes the website at diegosurgical.com. It is not our Notice of Privacy Practices. That is a separate document, required by federal law, that describes how the practice handles your medical records. Ask the office for a copy.
Information we collect through this site
None. Specifically:
- There are no contact forms, no appointment request forms, and no fields of any kind to type into.
- We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service.
- We do not use advertising or social media trackers.
- We do not set cookies on this page.
Our hosting provider processes standard technical information — such as the IP address a request came from — in order to deliver the page and protect against attacks. We do not access that information, and it is not used to identify you.
The Call and Text buttons
Those links open your own phone's dialer or messaging app with our number filled in. Nothing is transmitted to us when you tap one. If you then choose to call or text, that communication reaches the practice the same way it would if you had dialed the number yourself.
Please do not send medical details by text. Standard text messaging is not encrypted. Send your name and a good time to reach you, and we will call you back.
When you call the office
If nobody answers within about five rings, your call is answered by an automated assistant. It will tell you that it is automated. It asks for your name and a callback number so the office can return your call, and it passes that to the practice.
The assistant does not give medical advice. If you describe a symptom or a concern about a surgery, it will stop and tell you to call 911 or go to an emergency room if the situation may be urgent.
Calls to the practice may be recorded or transcribed for quality and record-keeping. If recording is in use you will be told at the start of the call, as California law requires.
Links to other sites
The directions link opens Google Maps. Once you leave this site, Google’s privacy policy applies, not ours.
Your medical information
Information you give the practice as a patient — by phone, in person, or through your physician’s office — is protected health information under HIPAA and California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. It is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this policy.
Your rights under California law
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act to know what personal information a business collects and to request its deletion. Because this website collects no personal information, there is nothing for us to disclose or delete on that basis. Medical information held by the practice is separately protected and is generally exempt from the CCPA because it is already covered by stricter medical privacy law.
We do not sell or share personal information. We have never done so.
Children
This site is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it.
